5 REASONS WHY SAILING IS THE BEST WAY TO TRAVEL AROUND CROATIA

The Dalmatian Coast in Croatia is hands down one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Here are 5 reasons why the best way to see this collection of islands and pretty mainland towns is by sailing.

1. BEACHES ALL TO YOURSELF

Having your own boat to sail around the Dalmatian Coast means that you can moor up at beaches that aren’t accessible by car or foot. Instead of visiting the tourist dominated well known beaches in Croatia, you can check out the smaller beaches and empty coves. There’s something pretty special about having the beach all to yourself, and in Croatia this can happen on a daily basis.

2. FREEDOM TO EXPLORE

When you charter a yacht you’re completely on your own time frame. It’s your choice when you set sail from the harbour and you decide exactly where you want to go. No restrictions that come with booking a package holiday or being part of a tour group.

3. NO TOURIST VIBES HERE

Nothing adds bore and stress to a holiday like waiting in line at dawn for the passenger ferry to take you to your next destination. Sailing to other islands is all part of the experience, and being in a packed ferry with other tourists certainly is not a memory you want to make. When you have a yacht for just your group you can sail at your own leisure.

4. PREMIUM LOCATION WITHOUT THE PRICE TAG

When you spend a week sailing, come night fall you’ll moor your boat in a harbour and spend the evening in that town. Harbours are usually the most buzzing parts of these towns. Enjoy everything on your doorstep and no worries about taxis or lengthly walks back to your hotel as you’re already in the marina. It also comes at a much lower cost than a waterfront room in a hotel.

5. COST FRIENDLY

Your boat becomes your home for the week. It also becomes your taxi and your local restaurant. You’ll save a lot of money vacationing on a yacht compared to other holidays as it’s your transport to other islands, not to mention it’s a priceless experience being able to dine at sea with fresh market food picked up in the harbour that morning.
